Radio Monterey is Moving

Over the past year I’ve done a lot to keep Radio Monterey operating.  Some of the big things in the beginning was eliminating the silences, stream outages and poor broadcast bandwidth.

Hal was in telling me that he didn’t believe I could keep it operating because he couldn’t.  Thank you for that vote of confidence. The difference is, this is internet, this is not radio.  The reason I took over the studio is I felt the studio was a resource but the hosts and segment hosts have not been interested in using the facilities, except when broadcasting.

So it is time for the next evolution. I’m closing the Radio Monterey studio during the Labor Day weekend in September (4, 5, 6, 7) and installing the studio in my home. When we bring Radio Monterey back up it will be a full internet operation with remote hosts accessing everything through their own computers and telephones. The programming and show schedule will remain the same.

That move alone will be the final move that will make Radio Monterey profitable for the first time.  And just in time.

As we get closer to the move I’ll pass more information.  We will stream Progressive Voices starting on Friday, September 4 and keep Progressive Voices running until we are ready to cut over to Radio Monterey.  This is a big deal but it’s the best move we can make to keep Radio Monterey operating.
